Requesting Audio
Police audio can only be released with a subpoena, discovery request, or court order. The fees for audio copies are as follows:- Evidence - $85
- Dispatch - $99
Requesting Video
Police video can only be released with a subpoena, discovery request, or court order. The fees for video copies are as follows:- $169
Requesting Public Records
Requests for Public Records can be made via the City's online request system. Current and past requests can also be browsed at this link.Do you have your case number (DR#) or event number?
If you do not have your case number or event number, we will need to research your information to find your report. Please call our front desk at 949-644-3681 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and be prepared to provide your name, location of incident, and the date/time of incident.
Please note that not all report requests will be approved. Each request is reviewed by the appropriate personnel to determine if the request meets all required criteria for release.

Are you the authorized representative of an involved party listed in the report?
Sorry, only involved parties or their authorized representatives may request a copy of an incident report.
Has it been at least three days since the incident?
In most cases, your incident report will be ready after three days. However, some reports may take longer, depending on the complexity of the incident. The fee for incident reports is $3.25. To request a copy of your incident report, you have the following options:
- Call our front desk at 949-644-3681 any day between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- Be sure to have your case number (DR#) or event number ready.
- Mail your request to Newport Beach Police Department, 870 Santa Barbara Dr., Newport Beach, CA 92660
- Enclose a note with your name, your involvement in the incident, your case number (DR#), your address, and your phone number.
- Include a copy of your valid, government-issued photo identification.
- Include a check for $3.25, made payable to "The City of Newport Beach."
Incident reports are not available until at least three days after the date of incident. Please check back after this time.

AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVES
An authorized representative is someone with the legal authority to represent an individual. For example:
- Attorney with signed waiver
- Insurance Company with signed waiver
- Parent/Guardian if involved individual is a minor
