    Area 2 Commander

    Lieutenant Michael Schiavi joined our department in 1999 as a police recruit and graduated from the Police Academy in August that year. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2012 and attained his current rank of lieutenant in April 2022. With his promotion, he was assigned as the Area 2 commander.

    Area 2 includes Newport Shores, Newport Terrace, Newport Crest, Versailles, Villa Balboa, Park Lido, Newport Heights, Cliffhaven, Bayshores, Castaways, Westcliff, Dover Shores, Harbor Highlands, Baycrest, and Santa Ana Heights. It shares a border with Costa Mesa and is home to Newport Harbor High School. Unique neighborhoods, small businesses, and the high school make this a dynamic part of town.
