Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with the Police Department in an effort to reduce crime in their communities.

Citizens' Police Academy

We are proud to offer a Citizens' Police Academy to the Newport Beach community. This engaging and informative program is designed to increase understanding of the Police Department's operations and to allow community members the opportunity to interact with our outstanding personnel.  Topics covered include SWAT, the K9 Program, CSI, Dispatch, narcotics, traffic laws, firearms, detective investigations, and much more.

Volunteer Program

At the Newport Beach Police Department, “VIP” has an additional meaning: Volunteer in Policing.  Find out more about our incredible volunteers.

Teen Academy

We are proud to offer a Teen Academy to local students.  The Teen Academy is held every summer and is open to students who will be enrolled in high school during the following school year.

Step Up

Step Up is a character-based program for sixth-grade students in Newport Beach.
