This division is responsible for assisting the chief of police in the management and administration of the Department. The Community Relations Unit works closely with the community and encourages residents to partner with us through programs such as Neighborhood Watch. The Professional Standards Unit coordinates the investigation of personnel complaints, confirms that we are adhering to policies and procedures, and ensures that we are providing the desired levels of service to our community. This division also manages our payroll, media relations, and volunteer program.
Lieutenant Brad Miller began his career with the City of La Palma and joined our department in July 2007. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2013 and attained his current rank of lieutenant in July 2021. In February 2023, Lieutenant Miller joined the Chief’s Office as the executive officer. In this role, his goal is to assist with implementing the chief’s vision for the Department and to ensure that there is excellent communication from the Chief’s Office (both internally and externally).Contact Lieutenant Miller
