    About the Detective Division


    The Detective Division is the investigative arm of the Department. Detectives and civilian investigators follow up on all reported crimes and (non-traffic) felony and misdemeanor arrests. The division’s additional responsibilities include narcotics and special investigations, criminal intelligence, crime analysis, the School Resource Officer program, court liaison services, and crime scene investigation.

    Detective Lieutenant


    Lieutenant Justin Morouse began his career with the City of Brea and joined our department in July 2012. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2016 and attained his current rank of lieutenant in July 2021. Lt. Morouse was assigned to the Detective Division in June 2023. In this role, his goal is to ensure all crime victims receive high quality, thorough investigative services.
