The Newport Beach Police Department (NBPD) has released a Critical Incident Community Briefing video detailing the events surrounding an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

The incident involved Geoffrey Stirling, who was fatally shot during an altercation with a Newport Beach Police Officer during a traffic stop. The Critical Incident Community Briefing video includes body-worn camera footage, vehicle dash camera footage, and other relevant information to provide transparency and context regarding the incident.
