On January 19, 2024, at 11:44 pm, the Newport Beach Police Department dispatch center received a call regarding a traffic collision in the area of Jamboree Road and Sea Vista Drive. Officers arrived on scene and located a single motorcyclist who had struck a tree in the center median.

Unfortunately, the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on scene. The identity of the motorist is not being released at this time, pending identification by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Coroner Division. During the collision investigation, a Sigalert was issued, and all northbound lanes on Jamboree Road from Sea Vista Drive to Island Lagoon were closed until the following day at 5:00 am.
