What is Neighborhood Watch?
Neighborhood Watch is a crime prevention program that enlists the active participation of citizens in cooperation with the police department in an effort to reduce crime in their communities.

What does it involve?

  • Neighbors getting to know each other and working together in a program of mutual assistance.

  • Citizens being trained to recognize and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.

  • Implementation of crime prevention techniques, such as home security, Operation Identification and others.

How can I get involved?
Contact the Crime Prevention Specialist at the Newport Beach Police Department to obtain information on existing programs in your neighborhood. If there is not an active Neighborhood Watch group in your area, the police department can assist you in starting a program.

Remember to call the police department immediately to report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
