Child Safety Presentations

The following programs are offered free of charge and can be scheduled by calling the D.A.R.E. Officer at 949-644-3638.

Safe Escape

This is a powerful informative video that prepares parents and children ages 4-14 to recognize and thwart predator lures and how to use their instincts, intuition, and common sense to make smart choices, not scared reactions when confronted by danger.

  • The program equips the audience with proven safety strategies including: the "Velcro Hold", the "Windmill", the "Bike Hold" and many more.

  • Children learn how to assemble the skills they have learned - "like the links of a chain" - since it sometimes takes two or three smart choices to escape from danger. Knowing how to "link" these choices is a key lesson in the program.

  • Materials with important safety tips and information will be handed out at the end of the video.

If you would like to view Bob Stuber's, Safe Escape video with your family it is available to checkout at each other the Newport Beach Libraries.

BE SAFE

The BE SAFE program is designed for elementary-age children and their parents.

  • Child Presentation - This assembly style presentation teaches children how to identify potential dangers, protect themselves from abuse, abduction and exploitation through a series of interactive scenarios. The presentation empowers children with the information, tools, and support they need to be safe, without frightening them.

  • Parent Presentation - This presentation provides parents with a checklist of simple safety measures, deterrence strategies and solutions to minimize the chances of harm to their children. The information presented is designed to ignite conversation and interaction between parents and children regarding the dangers posed by abductors and molesters.
