On the City of Newport Beach Boardwalk
(with intent of ensuring safety per 12.54.010 NBMC)

The following are not allowed on the Boardwalk:
 
The following are allowed on the Boardwalk, as long as activities are engaged in safely (12.54.040 NBMC): 
  • Skateboards
    12.57.020 NBMC

  • Motorized Skateboards
    21968 CVC

  • Surrey Bicycles 
    12.56.040 (A) NBMC

  • Motorized Bicycles and Mopeds 
    21663 CVC

  • Motorized Scooters
    12.54.025 NBMC

  • Motor Vehicles and Golf Carts
    12.64.020 NBMC

  • Unsafe Bicyclists, Pedestrians, or Roller-skaters
    12.54.040 NBMC

  • Bicyclists, Pedestrians, or Roller-skaters traveling faster than 8 mph
    12.54.030 NBMC

  • Obstructing / Hindering a Pedestrian
    10.08.020 NBMC

  • Obstructing travel along the Boardwalk
    10.08.010 NBMC

  • Bicycle Parking (obstructing sidewalk or boardwalk)
    21210 CVC

  • Dogs (on the boardwalk or beach)
    between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

  • Pedestrians

  • Roller-skates / In-Line Skates

  • Bicycles

  • Electric Personal Assistive Mobility Devices
    (e.g. Segways), as defined in Section 313 CVC

  • Wheelchairs (with or without motors)

  • Motorized Tricycles or Quadricycles, as defined in Section 407 CVC 
    (used by the Elderly / Invalids)
